Butterfly Pea Flower - Whole Herbs 2oz

Butterfly Pea Flower (Clitoria Ternatea) 2oz

Butterfly pea flower is said to have magical properties of transformation, love, serenity, and protection. It's also associated with joyful and romantic emotions, and is commonly used in spell workings for love, sexuality, and fertility. In some spiritual traditions, the flower is believed to enhance intuition, psychic abilities, and spiritual insight.

Butterfly pea flower is so-named because it is a member of the pea family with notched tips on the flowers that give blooms the appearance of a butterfly in flight. However, ironically, the plant is generally ignored by butterflies, despite its bright blue color. While plants in the wild produce flowers that range from deep blue to lavender, some cultivars have white or pink flowers, a few with semi-double blooms.

Also Called: Asian Pigeon Wings, Blue Pea, Bluebell Vine, Cordofan Pea, Darwin Pea and Aparajita.
